Desmond and the Tutus are one of South Africa’s most famous indie bands and they’re finally home from their recent UK tour (yes, we saw in on Jeremy Loops’ Instagram post, and their shows were awesome). On Friday, 19 May 2017 the Tutus and their Desmond will be at Mercury Live and on Saturday, 20 May 2017 they will be kicking up the party at Aandklas in Stellenbosch.
Desmond and the Tutus is made of of four lads, all of which love music and everything about SA. The band features Shane Durrant, Craig Durrant, Douglas Bower, Nicholas Dinnie, and their music fuses together rock, pop and indie. They’ve been on international tours, they’ve performed at SA’s biggest festivals and they’ve captured the hearts of the nation with their catchy and hilarious jams.
Friday, 19 May 2017 - Mercury Live in Cape Town
The first of their two stops in Cape Town is at Mercury Live and it’s going to be a cracker. They’ve just come back from an international tour and these lads are raring to get themselves back on a Cape Town stage. The opening acts for the Cape Town show are Retro Dizzy and Young Hands. Have a look at some of their tracks below!
Date: Friday, 19 May 2017
Venue: Mercury Live, Cape Town City Centre
Time: 8pm - 12am

Saturday, 20 May 2017 - Aandklas in Stellenbosch
The second of their two stops in Cape Town (kind of) is in Stellenbosch. The students of the university love partying, that’s no secret, and it just so happens that Desmond and the Tutus also love to party, so prepare for a wild night. The opening acts have not yet been announced, so instead have a listen below to some of the hits from the main attraction themselves.

Venue: Aandklas, Stellenbosch
Time: 8pm - 12am
Tickets: Tickets can be bought at the door for R60p/p (before 9pm) and R80p/p (after 9pm).
