Once-in-a-lifetime exhibition of Esther ...
On from February to August 2024; 100+ artworks
If you’ve always wanted to come face-to-face with a tyrannosaurus rex or you have kids obsessed with finding out just how long-necked the diplodocus really was, be sure not to miss the impressive Days of the Dinosaur exhibit at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from Thursday, 31 July to Wednesday, 20 August 2014.
The Jurassic Park-like exhibition invites young and old to come learn a little more about the extinct giant reptiles and interact with more than 45 life-sized moving, roaring dinos in carefully reconstructed prehistoric landscapes – there’s even two skeletons and seven dinosaurs that come to life with the push of a button. Visitors will get real insight into what the world was like all those millions of years ago thanks to palaeontologist-approved displays that are just as fun and engaging as they are in line with up-to-date scientific research.
The Days of the Dinosaur exhibit also includes a 25-minute 3D movie detailing the creation of the universe, starting from the Big Bang to the era when the enormous lizards ruled the earth. Afterwards, budding archaeologists will get to check out the methods and discoveries made by professionals at the Excavation Zone, and little ones will even have the opportunity to do some digging of their own in the Dino Sandbox. Not to mention, there’ll be photo ops with a model T-Rex and dinosaur-themed face painting. In short, the entire family is sure to go a little wild for all the fun, fabulous and engaging activities on offer at this fascinating and unique exhibit.
TICKETS FOR THE DAYS OF THE DINOSAUR EXHIBIT IN CAPE TOWN
Tickets for the exhibit cost R140p/p, R95p/p for children under the age of 18 or R395 for a family of four (two adults and two children) and are available online via Computicket.com and at Computicket outlets. The ticket price includes the 25-minute 3D movie, but does not include the face painting or photo op.
The dinosaurs will be on display from 9am to 7pm every day during the run, but visitors will need to book for a specific entrance time when making a reservation. Do note that tickets for the weekend dates of the entire exhibition are sold out already.
