Cupcake Decorating Workshop

This happy cupcake fest promises fun for everyone

Put the icing on top of your winter fun with a creative cupcake decorating class inspired by nature. Suitable for aspiring bakers of all ages (from three-year-olds to 100-year-olds), this sugary floral fiesta includes a demonstration on how to make the ultimate cupcake batter, followed by the chance for guests to ice their own pretty creations.

The class takes place on Saturday, 27 August 2016 from 11am until 12:30pm at The Children’s Studio in Second Avenue, and forms part of the Montessori The Children’s Art Festival. After the demo led by Echi Ismail, big and small bakers can choose from an assortment of icing colours and toppings to make their cupcakes sparkle. There’ll be flowers, leaves, butterflies, rainbows, snails and other cute critters (all made of fondant of course) to compete for cupcake space, and all materials are included in the workshop price.

Each guest will get six cupcakes to ice and take home to show off to family members and snack on later.  Parents are welcome to drop off their kiddies and collect them after the workshop ends – there’ll be plenty of staff and parents on-hand to look after all the little ones. Kids snack packs can also be pre-ordered if you suspect your mini cake-maker might get peckish.
