Sink into the Cape Town trance season

Anyone well versed in the what’s what of the Cape Town trance scene will tell you that Mindcultivation’s annual Cosmic Connection outdoor party, which returns this year on Saturday, 5 and Sunday 6 October 2013, is one of the ultimate, not-to-be-missed pre-summer stomp-fests. It all goes down roughly 25 minutes from Cape Town at the West Coast Ostrich Ranch, where revelers can lose themselves within the badass beats and beautiful surroundings.

Now in its fifth year of trance awesomeness, the Cosmic Connection series consistently offers a killer party experience featuring top local artists blasting progressive, psy-trance and minimal tunes to happy stompers sprawled across the grassy terrains of the ostrich farm. The sweet location is made even sweeter by the large, half moon-shaped dam less than 20 meters from the dance floor – perfect for a quick cool off when the jamming gets too hot. And with the likes of The Commercial Hippies, Connecto and Deliriant spinning the decks, it’s bound to be a scorcher.

The folks at Mindcultivation have been throwing indoor and outdoor trance parties in Cape Town since 2008, and their mission is to promote an open-minded environment and spread awareness and love for your fellow man. In this spirit of community upliftment, Mindcultivation will be donating 10% of all profits to a local charity called the SunBird Foundation, which distributes donations to less privileged youth and aims to spread awareness of important issues.

The venue facilities include plenty of camping space with tent-side parking, clean ablutions, free fresh drinking water points, a fully licensed bar and food stalls. You just need to bring the following:

Tickets for the 2013 Cosmic Connection Trance Party are available online via Quicket.co.za or at the outlets listed below and cost R230p/p. Tickets bought at the gate will cost R250p/p.

Gates open on Saturday, 5 October at 11am and close on Sunday, 6 October at 6pm.
