Spoil yourself this Christmas Day in Cape Town and indulge in African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel’s Savour Restaurant’s gourmet buffet. This stylish and sleek hotel eatery is balking at tradition and serving up a decadent spread that will have foodies swearing off gammon and turkey for years to come.

Situated in the heart of the Mother City, the establishment’s exterior belies its opulent interior, and guests will be thrust into a world of chic furnishings and stylish decor as soon as they step through the door. Thus, this open-plan restaurant offers patrons a luxury setting in which to dine on gourmet starters, like Asparagus Spears Wrapped in Smoked Springbok, Chive Aioli, Duck Liver Crème Brûlèe with Apple Chutney, Pecan Nut Brioche and Port Poached Pears, Gorgonzola and Candied Walnut Salad, to name a few. What’s more, the banquet offers seafood and sushi lovers a spread that includes Fresh Shucked Oysters, Lemon and Sauce Mignonette, Salmon Sashimi Pickled Ginger and Daikon, Prawns and Avocado Cocktail with Sauce Marie Rose and much more.

The menu is also chock-full of meaty and vegetarian-friendly entrées, such as Hazelnut-crusted Beef Fillet Mignon, Wild Mushroom Casserole and Fondant Potatoes, Roast Turkey with Pecan Nut and Rosemary Stuffing, Bourbon and Maple-glazed Smoked Pork Loin, Baked Eggplant, Mozzarella, Grana Padano and Pomodoro Sauce and Glazed Spring Vegetables with Basil.

Since the menu offers smaller portions, diners can sample almost every decadent dish and still have a place for dessert.

The aptly named sweet corner offers those with a sweet tooth a range of treats that includes traditional Christmas desserts (Bouchée de Noel, Mini Fruit Cakes, Mini Stollen, Trifle and Traditional Mince Pies), something for the cake- and chocolate-lover (assorted sugar cookies, Dark Chocolate Truffle Fondant, Apple Sultana and Cinnamon Cake, Mini Fruit Jardinière Opera, Chocolate Meringues and Raspberry Ripple Meringues) and even a selection of local and international cheeses with spiced nuts and preserves.
