Cape Town Society for the Blind Presents a Grand Spring High Tea

An afternoon of tea, live music and inspiring local personalities for a great cause

Join the Cape Town Society for the Blind (CTSB) as it hosts a Grand Spring High Tea at the Upper Eastside in Woodstock on Saturday, 7 October 2017. From live entertainment, to inspiring motivational talks and great prizes to be won, the event promises to be a grand affair.

Founded by a group of women in 1929, the CTSB aims to help and support blind and visually impaired individuals (VIPs) by providing them with skill-training and helping them find employment. The organisation relies on funding from outside to keep its upliftment projects going, and all proceeds from this event will go towards them.

Radio and TV personality Soli Philander will be MC for the day, with founder of Power Women Project Keri Stroebel and Chaeli Mycroft joining him as guest speakers. Born with cerebral palsy Chaeli has been an ability advocate from a young age. She won the International Children’s Peace Prize in 2011 and the World of Children Youth Award in 2013 for her work.

Bringing sweet sounds to the affair is jazz vocalist Michelle Botha, and cabaret duo Plum Song. The dress code is smart casual with a splash of green to represent new life, growth and hope.

The Upper Eastside is home to DoubleTree hotel by Hilton and has a contemporary, slick style and sits in Woodstock, which is fast becoming one of Cape Town’s trendiest suburbs. As well as housing a hotel and space for conferences, it is also a prime property spot with cool apartments, shopping and an outdoor ampitheatre.

TICKETS TO THE 2017 GRAND SPRING HIGH TEA WITH THE CAPE TOWN SOCIETY FOR THE BLIND

Tickets cost R300 per person or R2,700 for a table of 10. The event will run from 2:30pm to 6pm.
