Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Showcase

Treat your ears to the soothing sounds from these talented young musicians

The next generation of classical music stars will be putting on their very own show as part of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s International Summer Music Festival this year. That’s correct folks, The Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (CPYO) will be performing on Sunday, 7 February 2016 at the Artscape Theatre. For more information, email luvuyo@cpo.org.za or phone +27 (0)21 410 9809.

They will play alongside the Cape Town Philharmonic Wind Ensemble (CPYWE) – both groups have been performing for over a decade and have established themselves on the local classical music scene. Their conductors, Brandon Phillips and Faan Malan, will be at the helm during the concert.

Phillips will conduct the CPYO in Symphony No. 9 by Dvořák, while Malan will direct the CPYWE in a programme that features Leroy Anderson, Gershwin and Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. Don’t miss out on hearing these beautiful pieces live and come support our young talent.
