Cape Flats Lifestyle Expo

See the up-and-coming entrepreneurs from one of Cape Town’s biggest areas when this annual exhibition returns for a second year in a row.

The Cape Flats is one of the most vibrant, expansive and often overlooked areas within the Mother City. See the spirit of empowerment and entrepreneurship come alive when the annual Cape Flats Lifestyle Expo comes to the Wittebome Civic Centre in Wynberg from Friday, 17 to Sunday, 19 April 2015.

An initiative of the publishing company Cape Flats Lifestyle, the yearly expo returns for round two. After a successful debut in May 2014, the expo is back with a jam- packed programme for attendees and exhibitors alike. Learn more about property, finance, health and beauty and tons more from the exhibitors. Here’s our round-up of what you can expect from the proudly Capetonian venture.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2015 CAPE FLATS LIFESTYLE EXPO IN CAPE TOWN

BUILDING SKILLS AND BUSINESSES: This time around, the expo will be hosting a workshop for small and medium enterprises owners (or those wanting to find out how to start one!), which will feature discussions around how to draw up a business plan, find adequate funding and other necessary tips. The workshops happen on Saturday, 18 April 2015 from 10am – 3pm.

FOOD, FOOD & MORE FOOD: Attendees can dive right into some hearty fare as famed restaurant Kaprinos sets up shop at the event this year. Fully halaal and spanning 100 seats – patrons can sit down for delish seafood paella, chicken curry and many more yummy dishes. Pay R120p/p and eat as much as you can for two hours. Eager to get a sweet fix? Well, there will be stalls selling plenty of sugary treats like cupcakes, pancakes and other goods.

KIDDIES ACTIVITIES: Parents, don’t despair – you’re in luck. The organisers have created a kid-friendly space with face-painting, balloon shows and plenty of games to play. Lookout for stalls with interactive game stations on offer to keep your little ones busy.
