Cape Fight League presents Last Fighter Standing MMA Tournament

Witness the intensity of this new fighting format, live from the ringside in the Mother City

As if mixed martial arts tournaments weren’t exciting enough, a new style of MMA competition has been conceived that sees fighters taking part in multiple bouts for the ultimate crown of Last Fighter Standing (LFS). The Cape Fight League will be hosting the first LSF tournament on Saturday, 9 July 2016 at the Sunningdale Sports Centre.

This fierce knockout tournament will kick-off with preliminary bouts at 10am, moving on to the regional finals in the afternoon and evening. Eight men and four women will enter the elimination fights, using a combination of boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA techniques to survive the two-minute bouts. The shorter time of each bout will deliver more explosive performances with intense knockouts and submission finishes.

The bouts take place in the hexagon – except that the cage has been replaced with boxing-style ropes – where women and men compete against each other for the prize money and title. This acknowledges the skills of professional female fighters, who can hold their own against their male opponents.

Get your adrenaline pumping and watch the birth of this new combat sport in the Western Cape, live from the side of the hexagon. Bring your mates along for the ride too.
