Cape Cobras vs. Knights Cricket Match
The Western Cape takes on Bloemfontein in the next one day game in Paarl
The Nashua Cape Cobras will continue their conquest in the Momentum One Day Cup with a match against the VKB Knights at Boland Park in Paarl. The local men will need your support as they step up to the crease on Sunday, 18 October 2015 at 10am, so pack the cooler box and beat the Sunday blues with a spot of cricket in the Winelands.
The match will be both teams’ third game of the tournament, and the only one to take place in Paarl for the Momentum One Day Cup. By the time this match occurs, all six teams will have played at least two games, which means that the log will only be in the opening phase.
Despite this, we have high hopes for the local lads as they maintained their position at the top of the log until they narrowly lost in the final match of the 2014/2015 season. The VKB Knights finished the 2014/2015 season at the bottom of the log, winning only two of their ten games.
The last time these two teams squared up, the Cobras emerged victorious by 73 runs. The team managed to rack up a total of 285, which proved unattainable for the Knights, thanks to an impressive 6th wicket partnership between Dane Vilas and Sybrand Engelbrecht (who supplied 137 of the total runs).
However, this is a new season and the outcome of this match could be very different, so grab your mates and a few cold ones and come throw some gees at the Cape Cobras.
