Bubbles and Breakfast at Bosman Family Vineyards

Cheer on the Absa Cape Epic cyclists while kicking back with a glass of sparkling and a spot of brekkie at this official Wellington spectator point

Bosman Family Vineyards is popping the cork on their first ever Bubbles and Breakfast in honour of their role as an official Absa Cape Epic spectator point and as part of a greater bid to win Wellington the award for best stage location in the gruelling MTB cycle race. This famous wine farm, which is on the Lelienfontein Estate, will open its gates on Saturday, 21 March 2015 to supporters and cycling enthusiasts, providing the public a great opportunity to be a part of the Epic for free while spending time on grounds that otherwise offer wine tasting tours by appointment only.

Although entrance is free for this day of fun in the sun – it includes kiddie entertainment and free wine tasting, space is limited and supporters are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Coffee and Bosman MCC will be available for purchase by the cup and glass respectively, while three breakfast options, ranging from R90 to R100, will stave off hunger as tyres grind dirt at the Absa Cape Epic for the twelfth year running.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE BUBBLES & BREAKFAST AT BOSMAN FAMILY VINEYARDS

BREAKFAST: What kind of breakfast goes best with bubbles? There may be a scientific answer to that, but usually it comes down to personal preference – and in a bid to satisfy everyone’s palate, Bosman is offering three breakfast options that should cover all the bases:

  • Toasted granola and fresh fruit cup with Greek yoghurt and honey
  • Seeded whole-grain roll with sun-dried tomato cottage cheese, roasted chicken and fresh rocket salad with toasted sesame, ginger and garlic dressing
  • Breakfast croissant with scrambled egg, balsamic roasted tomatoes and crispy bacon

Breakfast tickets should be bought beforehand in order to secure a meal, but will also be available on the day on a first come, first served basis. Breakfasts come with a complimentary coffee and a glass of Bosman MCC.

BUBBLES: For a boozy brunch you need booze, and the bubbly of choice for the day is Bosman Method Cap Classique Steen. Made purely from Chenin grapes, it has a “lively minerality and pure fruit flavours”, according to the winemakers. There are detailed tasting notes to be found, but in layman’s terms - it’s good stuff!

WINE TASTING: For those with a taste for the finer things in life, wine tasting will be free on the day. Supporters can expect to taste five different wines, each of which is available for purchase by the bottle.

FOR THE KIDS: A large jungle gym and play area, complete with ropes and slides, is available for the youngsters, so the children can do what children do while adults enjoy the race.

TICKETS FOR THE BUBBLES & BREAKFAST AT BOSMAN FAMILY VINEYARDS
