Runners, get that gear ready! The inaugural Big Bay Beach Run Series comes to a close on Saturday, 28 February 2015.
Started by an avid runner, the Big Bay Beach Run is a way for families, friends and avid runners to get that heat on their feet while the summer rays shine on. Those wanting to enter the fun run can participate in shorter 2,5-km , 5-km or bite the bullet and take on the longer 10km races (the latter being for more experienced runners).
One of the main aims of this first -ever Bloubergstrand-based event is to raise awareness about pollution and, most importantly, illegal dumping upon on West Coast beaches.
All ages are welcome and proceeds raised will be donated to the Cape Town Beach Clean Up initiative. The races will commence at 9am at low tide on low compact sand. Pooches are welcome as long as they remain on a leash (don’t forget a bag for the doggy doo-doo!)
With cash prizes valued at R1500 for the lucky winners, entrants have a worthy incentive to strap on those running shoes!
