Belly Busting Burger Specials at Café Caprice

Camps Bay’s darling dishes up a duo of patties for the price of one every Tuesday

During the summer months, classy Camps Bay institution Café Caprice is all about sun and sea, cocktails and salads, but when the winter chill sets in, the irresistible 2-for-1 burger special gets guests’ tongues’ wagging.

Until the end of September the slick spot, which is famed for vibey Sunday afternoon sundowners, dishes up a double portion of buns for the price of just one, every Tuesday from 12pm until closing time. Diners can enjoy a generously stacked patty in a dapper setting for between R66 and R115 for two burgers.

Any two burgers can be ordered off the menu and diners only have to pay the cost of the more expensive one. You could try the Mediterranean steak roll. It’s a perfectly grilled sirloin steak accompanied by caramelised onions, peppadews, tomato, rocket, feta and basil pesto. The mouthwatering rump prego’s spiciness is complemented with sweet red peppers, a roasted tomato sauce and fresh rocket. The royal burger, however, is, hands-down, the most popular option. It’s topped with streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, fresh chilli and beer-battered onion rings. And how does a homemade lentil and chickpea patty, topped with tzatziki and fresh tomato salsa, not sound irresistible? To be fair though, all the options are well worth a try.

All burgers are served with a side of skinny fries, and diners can choose a beef, chicken or veggie patty. Carb-conscious patrons can opt for a bun-free burger, served on a bed of lettuce, and, for an additional cost, you can choose to replace your fries with a Greek salad.

Foodies will also be happy to know that although Café Caprice could easily just rely on its unrivalled sea view, its perfect location and its handsome cocktails, the restaurant still pours a lot of energy and care into preparing delicious fare – the chefs make all the sauces from scratch and work with only the freshest ingredients. So you can rest assured you’re going to be tucking into a tower of quality goodness.

Wash your delicious burger down with one of the many drink options Café Caprice offers. This favoured watering hole offers something for every taste and every budget. Chase a shot of Patron Reposado tequila with a Black Label or enjoy a Tanqueray No. TEN gin and tonic. If you’re more of a cocktail person then you’re in for a treat. The Monsoon Tea Party is a mixture of Ron Zacapa Centenario rum with chai infused rooibos tea, fresh vanilla and fig jam, shaken and served over rocks with a side of burnt orange. Sounds delicious right? The buy-one-get-one-free special this chic café offers firmly establishes it as a must-visit hotspot – and not just when the sun and sea take centre stage, but when the cold rolls in too.

PRICING AND BOOKING INFO FOR CAFÉ CAPRICE'S 2-FOR-1 WINTER BURGER SPECIAL
The café’s burgers normally range from R66 to R115, and most diners end up paying R55 each for a burger. Booking is not essential, but it is recommended, especially for larger groups, as the restaurant can get very busy. To make a booking, call +27 (0)21 438 8315, email info@cafecaprice.co.za or fill out the form online at Cafecaprice.co.za.

The special runs every Tuesdays until further notice. It only applies to sit-down meals (not takeaways) and only one burger per person is allowed.
