The Urban Warriors go head-to-head with the AmaZayoni for what looks to be a riveting ABSA Premiership clash at the Athlone Stadium on Friday, 28 March 2014. Kick-off is set for 8pm.
Ajax Cape Town has had a tough season so far and, as a result, the squad is hovering dangerously close to the bottom of the log and the dreaded relegation zone. Most recently, the local side suffered a 2-0 loss against top-ranked team Kaizer Chiefs; though, the Mother City boys equally matched the Amakhosi in the first and most of the second half (Kaizer Chiefs scored at the 85-minute mark and again at in the 90th minute).
The good news? Since taking on the role as manager of the Ajax Cape Town football team in late February, Roger De Sá (former Orlando Pirates coach) is hell-bent on accumulating the necessary points by the end of the season saying, “It’s important for us to get to that thirty-point mark as quick as possible to take the pressure off the players and for them to play more freely.”
On the opposite side of this match-up, the Black Aces are riding high on a string of recent victories. Even though their clash with Orlando Pirates on Tuesday, 18 March 2014 resulted in a 1-1 draw, the Mpumalanga team earned a valuable point to put them in the top 10 of the log.
Needless to say, Ajax Cape Town will be in need of fans’ support in this upcoming PSL match.
