De Morgenzon Estate in Stellenbosch is the home to some of the Cape’s best wines, and on Saturday, 10 and Sunday, 11 December 2016, they’ll be hosting the Chenin celebration to end all Chenin celebrations!
De Morgenzon was founded in 1699 by Dirk Cauchet. Before that, the estate formed part of Uiterwyk (one of the oldest estates in South Africa) and was granted to Cauchet, after which he founded the wine estate we know today!
The owner of De Morgenzon, Wendy Appelbaum, and the current Cellar Master Carl van der Merwe will take you on a tasting experience that few can rival. The estate will open 11 vintages from 2005 to 2015 and guests will be amongst the lucky few that get to taste the wines from this magnificent estate.
The afternoon includes a tour of the winery, a little explanation into the history of De Morgenzon, a tasting of all the wines on offer and a selection of locally produced yummies to really get the good times going. Pairing wine with food is somewhat of tradition in Cape Town, and it doesn’t get better than when the food is delicious and the wines are award-winning.
