Free meat Mondays: 2-for-1 sirloin, salad and chips at Headquarters
Every Monday, Headquarters (HQ Restaurant), the Parisian-inspired city centre steakhouse best known for its dangerously simplistic menu, is offering up a buy-one-get-one- FREE Cape Town dinner special. The 2-for-1 deal entitles diners to twice the sirloin, chips and salad for the standard price (R169).
For those unfamiliar with the one-hit-wonder brasserie-style eatery, HQ is devoted to a single concept: it serves only one meal option (as mentioned, sirloin, chips and salad), and waiters will only ask you one question, “How would you like your steak done?”
Needless to say, the eatery minces neither words nor meat, but, nonetheless, has managed to cement a reputation for itself as one of the best places to have steak in Cape Town.
The top-quality, top-cut sirloin is cooked to perfection (any way you want it) and dished up with Café de Paris butter, skinny fries and a tasty green salad topped with a tangy mustard dressing.
On the side, guests can look forward to live music by the Bob Marley cover band The Rivertones as well as an impressive (but affordable) wine list and creative cocktail options (cocktails are also 2-for-1 on Monday nights).
As perfect for a power dinner as it is for a first date – HQ claims a handsome cosmopolitan flair – the restaurant and its ‘free meat Mondays’ make for an excellent evening in the heart of the CBD.
Booking HQ’s ‘Free Meat Mondays’ Steak Special
In light of a hefty demand, HQ Restaurant hosts two seatings on a Monday:
- Seating 1: 6:30pm
- Seating 2: 8:30pm
As noted, space fills up quickly, and thus booking is essential; it’s recommended to make a reservation (Tel: +27 (0)21 424 6373) at least four days in advance.
Group bookings are also not only welcome, but encouraged.
