Mezepoli Meze and Wine Bar, a somewhat recent restaurant addition to Cape Town’s iconic Camp’s Bay seaside strip, is turning up the heat for winter with four fantastic weekly specials. Diners can look forward to discounts, slashed prices and added value on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from May to September.
The Mediterranean style eatery – it’s the less formal, snackier version of Johannesburg’s much-loved Plaka – combines the best of traditional Hellenic cooking with an urban chic interior swanky enough to contend with even the most presumptuous Camp’s Bay mainstays.
The menu is largely based on the concept of meze, the Greek version of tapas, and looks to create communal, shared eating experiences; though, for those taken with the what’s mine is mine attitude, there’s also a few Mediterranean mains that have already garnered a fervent following among regulars (rumour has it that Mezepoli has the best baby chicken in Cape Town).
Each Mezepoli winter special is unique and emphasizes a different element of the restaurant’s eclectic menu, so no matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s bound to be at least one weekly feature that’s reason enough to leave the winter hovel and head down to Cape Town’s hottest, new Mediterranean restaurant.
Half-Price Sushi
Previously only on Wednesdays, the Mezepoli half-price sushi winter special has now been extended from Monday to Friday. A nod to the Asian element of the very international meze menu, the sushi on offer is as fresh as it gets. All sushi is half-price, except the sushi platters.
Yiro Mondays
Brighten up those Monday blues with a Mezepoli Yiro meal. From open to close, the Mediterranean restaurant is giving you a choice of any Pita (wrap) with chips, and a soft drink or a local beer, all for just R70. Choose between beef, chicken or vegetarian
Cocktail Fridays
Camp’s Bay’s oceanfront strip screams sundowner, and Mezepoli has just made it all the easier to enjoy one of Cape Town’s stunning winter sunsets with something to warm the soul from the inside out. Say good-bye to the work week with a Friday cocktail; at Mezepoli if you buy one cocktail, you get one free from 4pm until 7pm.
Ouzo Sundays
Have a big, fat Greek lunch with the family on Sunday. Mezepoli is offering a Sunday lunch meze menu for just R120 per person. So head down, relax and enjoy your time with your family and a delicious menu.

Tip: If you’re up for more than just an adventurous eating experience, try the imported Ouzo, an anise-flavoured Greek aperitif often compared to Absinthe, with the seafood.
Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12pm to 12am.
