The award-winning Van Coke Kartel is capping off their winter tour – a stint that took them from Alberton to Bloem to Boksburg and now back again - with a show at The Assembly on Saturday, 28 July 2012.
The Afrikaans trio took the show on the road as part of their balls-to-the-wall mission to rock. Their decision was also rooted in a need to promote more material from their latest album, “Wie’s Bang”, and to showcase their growth and diversity.
For those who haven’t had the pleasure of acquainting themselves with the ins and out of one of the Belleville bendes greatest: after Fokofpolisiekar’s hiatus, vocalist and guitarist Francois Van Coke and bassist Wynand Myburgh started Van Coke Kartel; they added Jedd Kossew on guitar and vocals along with Jason Oosthuizen on drums to form a group based on pure energy and a no-nonsense approach to rock ‘n roll.
But wait… there’s more. The Assembly spares no expense in putting together a line-up to stop the presses. Not only do you get to see Van Coke Kartel, but bourbon-swilling retro-rockers Taxi Violence and piratical gypsies The Stellas are giving the night horns.
Line-up for Saturday, 28 July 2012:
Doors open at 9pm, and tickets are available at Webtickets.co.za at R50p/p. Please be advised that no under 18s are allowed, and identification (ID/passport/drivers’ license) is required.
