Join the South African Friends of Tibet on Freedom Day, Sunday 27th April 2008 for an exciting programme of events in support of the people of Tibet.

In Tibet the basic human rights of freedom of expression and self-determination are denied.

The Chinese Government does not allow freedom of religious practice.

Tibetan culture, language and traditions are fading away as they are assimilated by the increasing number of Chinese being migrated into Tibet.

The Dalai Lama, has urged support from the international community, just as global pressure contributed to the democratization of South Africa.

Event Programme:

• Meditation on Table Mountain at 09h00
• Ceremony at St George’s Cathedral at 11h30
• Walk through Cape Town at 13h00
• Freedom Concert - Waterfront - 14h00 – 20h00

Including the lighting of the Tibetan Olympic torch by Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, a free concert by Top SA musicians including Ubuntu Crew, AmaAmbush, Embo Khonexxion, a short meditation, inspirational talks, VJ, laughter yoga, drumming, jamming and MORE.

Entrance is free and all are welcome.
