More than forty-five wineries across this beautiful valley will participate in the festival which offers something for everyone. From winetasting to boat cruises, live music to a half-marathon, art to archery; young and old are guaranteed to find a festival favourite.
The wineries will be hosting exciting activities including sunset game drives, cheese & olive tasting, golfing, terroir tractor trips, fishing, vineyard quad biking, river rafting, cabernet sauvignon wine-diving and much, much more. Some of the new events planned for this year include: a mountain bike race, brandy tasting, helicopter trips and Italian pole-climbing ("Plao della cuccagne"). Don't forget to bring your dancing shoes for the live music which includes classic, Italian, blues, Afrikaans pop and rock.
This is the perfect opportunity to meet the local winemaking community. There are plenty of ââ¬ËMeet-the-Winemaker' tastings and some winemakers will also host private ââ¬Ëbarrel-tastings'. The shuttle service on offer means that you don't have to worry about drinking and driving, so go ahead, be one of the first to taste some of the Robertson Wine Valley's 2007 vintage wines!
Food fundis will love the new fare on offer which includes Arabian and Brazilian cuisine, perlemoen (abalone) on rice and whole barbequed salmon. Riverside picnics will be available, as well as Italian and medieval fare, traditional ââ¬ËBoerekos', Argentinean steaks and fresh oysters and bubbly. From hotdogs to gourmet delicacies, there is something for everyone.
Kids will be spoilt for choice with pony rides, jumping castles, face painting, puppet shows, magicians, feeding the farm animals and ââ¬Ëkettie' target shooting. The list goes on and on!
Be sure not to miss the Wacky Wine Weekend in the Robertson Wine Valley: make this your winter weekend away! Come experience wine tourism working at its best.
