Giselle tells the romantic story of the nobleman, Count Albrecht, and his ill-fated love for the young peasant girl, Giselle. The young count disguises himself as a peasant as he woos the delightful Giselle. Soon she succumbs to his charms.

But everything spirals out of control during the peasants' harvest time festivities. This is where Albrecht's true identity is revealed by Hilarion, the village gamekeeper, who also loves Giselle. Giselle loses her sanity and life after this devastating revelation and dances to her death. Act II ensues with a fusion of supernatural seduction, beauty, deception, and tragedy.
