Exciting DueSouth Xterra To Culminate in Grabouw
The action-packed Duesouth Xterra presented by Nissan will culminate in the breathtakingly beautiful town of Grabouw this April
This exciting event featured three legs where the endurance levels of outdoor enthusiasts and serious athletes are put to the test.
The series kicked off in July 2006 with Xterra Knysna, followed by the Xterra Shongweni in KZN in December and the Xterra Gauteng in February.
During the Grabouw event, which incorporates the South African Xterra finals, athletes will be able to participate in the Xterra triathlon which will consist of a 1,5km swim, 30km mountain bike and 12km trail run discipline.
Newcomers to the sport can compete in the Xterra Lite, which will consist of a 600m swim, 18km mountain bike and 6km trail run discipline and also caters for individual athletes as well as teams of three.
Sport enthusiasts and energetic holiday goers wanting to shape up for the Summer Season can also participate in the New Balance Xterra Scramble. Each Scramble run consists of a 6km short course and a 12km long course across scenic cross-country tracks and offers the opportunity to test your off-road running skills.
The South African Xterra finals in April form part of the Xterra Global Tour and will offer competitors the opportunity to qualify for the world championship final in Hawaii. The global series spans more than 90 qualifying events in 13 countries and takes competitors to some of the most spectacular and challenging courses around the globe.
