Muay Thai fighters set to lock limbs in June
Get ready to have your socks knocked off at Legendary Fight Night by Dragon Power Productions on Saturday, 23 June 2012. Two of SA’s top muay Thai contenders and international champions, Jarred ‘Rothweiler’ Rothwell from the Mother City and Ceeh ‘Croco Croco’ Khuboni from Durban, will go head-to-head for the first time on the South African Ultimate muay Thai Fights(UMF) circuit.
Aside from these two warriors battling it out in the ring, fighters from at least five provinces will also compete to represent the SA team at the IFMA World Championship in St Petersburg, Russia, in September 2012.
Tapfuma ‘Twinkle Toes’ Makina, the superstar from hit reality show “Way of the Warrior”, will host the evening, and special performances by Ubuntu B-Boyz, the Amy Biehl drummer dancers and marimbas are also on the cards.
Similar to kickboxing, muay Thai, the cultural martial art of Thailand, is a combat sport referred to as “The Art of Eight Limbs”. Developed hundreds of years ago, muay Thai is a close combat fighting style that uses the entire body as a weapon.

Tickets are limited to 1000 seats, so book early if you don’t want to miss out event. That said, if you can’t manage to secure a seat, Dragon Power Productions has teamed up with Zoopy to bring you the main event via live streaming. At 9pm you can tune in live to HD video via a smartphone or tablet near you.
