Cook Franschhoek
Cook up a storm with foodies in Franschhoek
After a resounding success last year, Cook Franschhoek is back to whip up a feast in Franschhoek kitchens from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 June 2012.
The three-day festival in SA’s gourmet capital will provide visitors the opportunity to join highly acclaimed chefs and winemakers in hands-on kitchen demonstrations. Foodies can enjoy the art of cooking in an exclusively intimate setting, and while each demonstration differs according to venue, you can be sure to enjoy the fruits of your labour and even a glass or three of wine, paired to perfection.
Become a master baker, sushi chef or simply enjoy the pairing of food and wine.
What to expect
Besides the obvious honour of being in the same room as your favourite master chefs and wine masters, Cook Franschhoek is an amazing opportunity to grow your culinary repertoire.
Learn to cook the “perfect risotto” with Neil Jewell and Clayton Reabow; watch the samurai sushi chef slice up a dish with precision; or indulge in a six-course gourmet food and wine pairing with Cotage Fromage and Vrede en Lust.
And, if that doesn’t have you salivating then this surely will pair canapés and bubbly with Pieter ‘Bubbles’ Ferreira from Graham Beck and then take a walk through Reuben Riffle’s secret vegetable and herb garden; thereafter, you get to go to Reuben’s home for a three-course lunch paired with Graham Beck wines.
Participating restaurants include:
Cotage Fromage
Liam Tomlin Food at Leopard’s Leap Vineyards
Le Quartier Françias
Bread and Wine at Môreson
Ryan’s Kitchen.
There is a limited amount of space so book early to avoid disappointment. Demonstrations vary from 8 to 30 people, and costs vary according to establishment. Tickets are available through webtickets.co.za.
