BRRR! Get ready for an ice cold concert with hot acts and sizzling side shows

Hip hop and house fans, prepare for an inaugural super-charged jol of note! The Castle Lite Extra Cold Concert street party ices up the Mother City on Saturday, 25 May 2013 for the first time ever.

In a nationwide consumer participation campaign – a first for South Africa – the SAB beer brand mobilised its loyal groupies in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban to create their own concert in their city. Beer drinkers were asked to pick their favourite acts from a list of 25 leading artists. Now, Castle Lite brings the ultimate line-up, as chosen by you, to perform at three lifestyle festivals and outdoor concerts across the three metropolises.

In Cape Town, some of the hottest names in the music industry, including deep house music duo F.eU (DJ Fresh and Euphonik) and hip-hop kingpin DJ Ready D, are on the bill, and the multi-genre show is set to take over Buiten Street – a connecting road between Long and Loop streets – and surrounding businesses and restaurants. Thus, party-goers can create their own experience by whiling out at various venues: VIPs get access to Fiction Bar and Lola’s Café, while media-types and representatives have access to Maremoto. Buiten Street serves as the all-round dance floor and party area, and Chez Ntemba club is also open to all. Thirsty patrons need not fret; mini-bars stocked to the brim with Castle Lites will litter the streets, and the shelves of participating venues will be jam-packed with the ice cold brew.

What’s more, the eight-hour jol – it starts at 4pm - is set to feature a range of activities and mini-events before the main attractions take to the stage, including market stalls selling exclusive Castle Lite Extra Cold Concert merchandise as well as break dancers, bikers, MC battles, skaters, and graffiti artists.

Tickets for the 2013 Castle Lite Extra Cold Concert

Tickets are available via Computicket.com and Computicket outlets and cost R324p/p for VIP access and R165p/p for general access. Do note that VIPs access the street party via Long Street, and general access ticket holders use the entrance is in Loop Street. VIP access includes entrance to Fiction and Lola’s VIP Area and four drink vouchers.
