The rustic and little hamlet of Kleinmond is situated along the scenic R44 drive from Gordon’s Bay to Hermanus and lies beside a small lagoon (literal meaning of Kleinmond – small mouth) between fynbos covered mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.

When you visit Kleinmond keep an eye open for some of the wild horses roaming the hills surrounding Kleinmond. This is believed to be South Africa’s only herd of wild horses in a wetland habitat.

The Arabella Kleinmond Golf Estate is situated just outside kleinmond.

Kleinmond is small, but can be a good destination for whale watching, especially between May and December.

The small sheltered bay allows for some of the best whale-spotting views.
