Bakoven, a serene, exclusive and practically undiscovered spot, is one of Cape Town's most idyllic little gems. Bakoven has two small, white beaches with shallow deep blue waters, secluded by huge boulders, and features small, luxury yet characteristic houses.

From here - in between the grandeur of the Twelve Apostles - the sunsets are  breathtaking, and the nights peaceful and serene.

Bakoven does not cater for crowds so there are no shops or cafes. When it comes to accommodation, one can choose from a small range of luxury beach houses, holiday villas and selfcatering apartments.

In the nineteenth century, the British Admiralty held little Bakoven for defense purposes in the Anglo-Boer War. In 1984 Bakoven, like Clifton, was declared National Monuments.
