Vredehoek is a nice residential suburb of Cape Town, situated on the lower slopes of Devil's Peak between Gardens and Woodstock.

Vredehoek has fabulous views over the city, Table Mountain and the harbour. At night, the sun sets right behind Lion's Head - a terrific and peaceful sight. The South Easter wind, the Cape Doctor, can be quite predominant in the higher areas towards Woodstock at times.

Otherwise Vredehoek is a quiet suburb, with a fair number of down to earth and cosy restaurants like Carlyles and side walk cafe's such as Yum, all slightly more hidden from the tourist eye.
