The West Coast of the Western Cape is still practically untouched by mass tourism. That does not mean this stretch of coastline is not worth seeing. It's more of a reason to explore the quaint coastal villages. Some of the West Coast towns that are worth to visit are Langebaan, of which its lagoon is a true Mecca for kite surfers, and for example Paternoster.
Inland, don't forget Darling, famous for its spring flowers. Every year during spring, the area of Darling is covered with a thick multicolored carpet of Cape spring flowers. Paternoster is one of the cutest fishermen's towns in the Western Cape province, situated in and endless bay and surrounded by the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve.
Do not skip waiting for the occasional ostrich on the road in the West Coast National park, situated inland from Saldanha Bay. The park revolves around the Langebaan and Langebaan Lagoon. The West Coast National Park, seamed off with golden beaches, is home to many many marine birds.
