Easy Read Wine Guide First to go Mobile
'The world of wine making is taking a huge leap into modernising its image and approach to the public,' says publisher of The Wine Tourism Handbook Monika Elias
The sixth edition of informative and visual guide to wine farms and wine experiences of South Africa The Wine Tourism Handbook is to pioneer the use of social media in Cape Town's wine industry via Facebook, news blogs and a downloadable mobile version that will allow readers to navigate around the Cape Winelands using the GPS co-ordinates of the farms to find their way.
Comments Publisher Monika Elias: “Social media is a way to entice, educate and update the public and has been successfully accomplished within the tourism industry, especially so with pre-and-post World Cup news. The wine industry now realises the potential benefits of social media."
A comprehensible wine guide accessible to all
Popular amongst locals and tourists The Wine Tourism Handbook offers concise information on wine farm offerings such as restaurants, accommodation and activities and regularly updated maps. This year the guide includes an exciting new section on wine bars and destinations in Central Cape Town which is the ideal place to start your wine tour.
Each wine region covered in the book is introduced with a comprehensive map listing of all the wine farms in the region, grid indicators, their opening hours and contact details. You'll find highlights of selected estates with details of their top attractions, top three wines and photographs.
