Drakenstein Lion Park secures lives of lions bred in captivity
Drakenstein Lion Park fights an ungoing fight against the hunting of captive born lions that are destined to die in hunting farms.
Drakenstein Lion Park, one of the dedicated wild life parks in near Cape Town, is fighting a constant fight against the hunting of captive born lions and does everything in its power to acquire lions destined for hunting farms.

The Drakenstein Lion Park, situated close to the winelands, currently houses thirteen lions. The animals at the Park are assured a chance of living in natural environment. As the park is not involved in the breeding of or in the trade in lions, its sole source of funding is the nominal admission fee charged, and hence relies heavily on public support.

The park is situated on 7.5 hectares of ground in the scenic Cape Winelands. Visitors to the park can enjoy a unique "wildlife" experience only 30 minutes from Cape Town. One can stroll through the park at your leisure and view these magnificent beasts at eye level or get a bird's eye view from one of the raised viewing platforms.

The Park has recently doubled in size and will soon open a luxury tented bush camp where nature lovers will be able stay, surrounded by lions. The Park is open daily from 09h30 to 17h00 and bookings are not required.
