2010 Qualification Groups Africa (CAF)
All of Africa’s national teams are vying to be part of this first African Soccer World Cup

The African countries which are member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will be fighting to determine which national teams will be qualify for the 2010 soccer world cup.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification determining the African teams playing in 2010 consists of 47 national teams who will be reduced to 5 teams qualified for the world cup.

South Africa can be added to this number of 5 countries since the country is automatically qualified as a host country, making the total of African countries competing in 2010 a total of 6.

The groups are split up
into 11 groups of 4 teams and 1 group 3 teams.

Although South Africa has a guaranteed spot in the finals they will have to compete in the qualification process since this is also the qualification for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

CAF Qualification Group 1: Cameroon, Cap Verde Islands, Tanzania, Mauritius

CAF Qualification Group 2: Guinea, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Kenya

CAF Qualification Group 3:
Angola, Benin, Uganda, Niger

CAF Qualification Group 4:
Nigeria, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone

CAF Qualification Group 5: Ghana, Libya, Gabon, Lesotho

CAF Qualification Group 6: Senegal, Algeria, Liberia, Gambia

CAF Qualification Group 7:
Côte d'Ivoire, Mozambique, Botswana, Madagascar

CAF Qualification Group 8: Morocco, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mauritania

CAF Qualification Group 9:
Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Seychelles

CAF Qualification Group 10: Mali, Congo, Sudan, Chad

CAF Qualification Group 11: Togo, Zambia, Swaziland

CAF Qualification Group 12: Egypt, Congo DR, Malawi, Djibouti

The No.1 ranked African country in each group, plus 8 of the best second-placed African national teams qualify for the next round of the qualification process.

These remaining 20 national soccer teams are going to be divided in 5 groups consisting of 4 national teams The No.1 ranked team of each qualification group will qualify for 2010.
