Today FIFA and Control Room (an Emmy Award-winning music events producer) announced a star studded list of performing artists for the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off opening event. The line-up includes Alicia Keys, Amadou & Mariam, Angelique Kidjo, Black Eyed Peas, BLK JKS, John Legend, Juanes, Shakira, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Toure and Vusi Mahlasela. More performance announcements are expected in the near future.
The spectacular event will take place at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg at 20:00 local South African time on 10 June 2010, ahead of the official opening match of the FIFA World Cup South Africa™ on 11 June 2010.
