Spier Estate Hosts One South African Musical Legend After Another
This summer Spier wine estate has seen had many artists performing at the Spier Amphitheatre, including Hugh Masekela
This summer season, the Stellenbosch Wine Estate Spier, has seen had many great artists performing on stage at the Spier Amphitheatre. One of them was Hugh Masekela, the father of African Jazz.

During a unique concert, Hugh Masekela managed once again to move the crowd and to fill the air with warm jazzy sounds.

Hugh Masekela performed at Spier as part of Nedbank African Giants Music Festival, following of the release of Masekela's new album "Almost like being in Jazz." His performance is also part of his extensive tour of America, Europe, Asia and South Africa.

Trumpet pro Hugh Masekela is one of South Africa's true musical legends, a icon who has been around for many many years. He has had international success with many of his albums including "Emancipation of Hugh Masekela", "Alive and Well at the Whiskey" and "Promise of A Future" which contained the hit song "Grazing in the Grass".
