Molo, the personification of CapeTownMagazine.com and everyone's first friend in Cape Town, came out as an art print on canvas at the launch of our internet magazine. The prints were sold so quickly that we didn't even manage to keep our hands on a single print!

The meaning of Molo to us is more then the isiXhosa word for 'Hello' (remember this!), although this is exactly why Molo was dubbed Molo after giving three ladies a lift from Khayelitsha to Stellenbosch, since his first name could not be translated to Xhosa immediately, he was dubbed the first word he welcomed them with. t

The designs of the various personas of Molo were modelled to represent South Africa's different provinces and the different love Molo has for each province. The designs are also a down-to-earth diverse celebration of every one in South Africa.

The Molweni design was created as a representation of the important role women play in South Africa, yet Molweni is also the personification of a warm welcome to visitors in South Africa.

One says 'Molo' when saying hello to one person, and Molweni if saying hello to more then one person. Molo learnt this from the same ladies when he received his own name..

Molo is also impressed by this new addition to the CapeTownMagazine.com family. It only took Molo a single glance and he was blown away by Molweni's friendly, strong and independent smile and her beautiful Xhosa attire. He was also intrigued by her witty charm, gorgeous looks and headstrong character and ability to laugh (at Molo) out loud.

To celebrate the union of Molo and Molweni, a permanent exposition of the second Molo series was opended at Rafiki's Restaurant and Bar.
