King of Gold visits Gold of Africa Museum in Cape Town
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King of the Ashanti's of Ghana, paid a visit to the Gold of Africa Museum in late 2005.
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King of the Ashanti's of Ghana, paid a visit to the Gold of Africa Museum in late 2005. Here, he handed over an Ashanti stool made of wood and adorned with symbols of beaten gold.

The 16th Ashanti King, on a 10-day trip through South Africa, paid a visit to the museum in Cape Town at the invitation of AngloGold Ashanti. Apart from the Gold of Africa Museum Otumfuo Osei Tutu II paid courtesy calls on President Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela.

He also visited parliament, the National House of Traditional Leaders and the Bafokeng Kingdom. During his South African tour, his majesty was accompanied by paramount chiefs, an international jurist, a prince and the former President of the African Development Bank.

The King of Gold also met with the Ghanaian community in South Africa and toured the AngloGold Ashanti Mponeng Mine near Carltonville.
