CapeTownMagazine's Molo canvasses now for sale at Art1 Gallery
CapeTownMagazine.com icon Molo is taking Cape Town by a quiet storm: Art1 Gallery on Church Street has taken in Molo canvasses!
CapeTownMagazine.com icon Molo (the man in the blue logo in the top left on this page, different for every province on the CapeTownMagazine.com) is taking Cape Town by a quiet storm. Recently, Art1 Gallery on Church Street has taken in Molo canvasses, which are for sale.

Molo is us, is every True CapeTonian or foreigner living in Cape Town. He is black, white coloured or indian. He knows the world, has travelled yet still knows charater and choice of what to do with his life. He lives it in Cape Town. He knows the owner of the five star hotel and he knows the homeless guy on the corner.

He's the new South Africa you want to meet when in Cape Town. He'll unwrap it with you. From township stay (do it) to helicopter lunch (do it).

He enjoys creating something, developing, getting 'somewhere'. But he knows it's not about the money (eventhough he doesnt have any). He still created CapeTownMagazine.com. And small things went big.

Most of the limited edition 35x35x5cm canvasses, mounted on a wooden frame, were sold after previous exhibitions in Plus Coffee and Rafikis, but now ‘Molo' has a gallery where next editions can be sold as well.

Church Street, connecting the parallel streets Long Street and Burg Street, is one of the most picturesque streets in the City Bowl. Here, in the midst of open-air antique stands, quirky design shops, and coffee hideaways you will find a couple of art galleries. As for instance ART1, the new temporary home of CapeTownMagazine.com's Molo's.

This small crossover gallery
is run by Mariette van den Heever, an established Afrikaans artist. It displays artwork of emerging South African artists from all backgrounds.

When ART1 gallery in Cape Town contacted
us about exhibiting Molo, the choice was easily made. With the result: a series of nine Molo canvasses hanging on the walls of ART1 Gallery, one design for each South African province. For instance, on the Northern Province canvas Molo is as true Bushman, holding an ostrich Egg , with a bow & arrow slung around his shoulder. On the Mpumalanga canvas, Molo wears traditional Ndebele clothing and his neck features Ndebele rings.

The Canvasses are priced at an affordable R640 each.

Contac us for more information on Buying or reselling them!
