CapeTownMagazine & Cape Town Face to Face with Tsotsi Cast
The cast of South Africa's Oscar winning film Tsotsi were welcomed as true superstars during their visit to Cape Town.
The cast of South Africa's Oscar winning film Tsotsi paid a visit to Cape Town yesterday, to speak about the movie, their current success and their future.

The cast of Tsotsi - including lead actor and actress
Presley Cheneyagae and Terry Pheto - were welcomed as real super stars at the premiers office on Whale Street in Cape Town. A large group of fans had gathered outside the office, armed with Tsotsi posters and cameras.

After giving the Tsotsi stars a warm welcome,
Premier of the Western Cape province Ebrahim Rasool said it was an honor to have the cast of South Africa favourite movie at his office: "Tsotsi is a real South African story: in the Western Cape alone 20 000 youngsters are part of a gang."

"Tsotsi is also about hope and redemption, and thus gives a positive message to the young generation," Rasool continued. "Therefore Tsotsi can do what all of our police, workers and jails can do: being an example and showing these kids that there is a way out. We need to understand why these youngsters have become who they are. Tsotsi gives us an explanation."

After handing over a signed Tsotsi Poster
- with the credit "Academy Award Winner" - Terry Pheto and Presley Cheneyagae spoke briefly about the reaction on the Oscar, the way the movie changed their lives and about future film projects. "There are offers," said Terry. "But we will see!"
