Likewise, this exciting new group successfully brings together some surprisingly diverse influences. It's not every day that a DJ, a violinist, cellist and vocalist find common ground.

Says cellist, Carol Thorns ‘We've combined different musical backgrounds and influences to form a melting pot of styles.  Although the strings contribute a Classical influence, by performing on electric instruments we are able to bring a fresh twist to a traditional genre. Our DJ, Nick Matthews, provides a contemporary backdrop for the music, and Yolanda, our vocalist, gives the CODA sound a truly South African feel.'

Since September 2005 CODA has been privileged to perform at many of South Africa's top events, the most significant of being the recent celebration of FW de Klerk's 70th birthday.

Even Desmond Tutu couldn't resist the CODA music and joined Trevor Manual and Mangosotho Buthelezi with some smooth moves.

All of the above is cherry, but remember: CODA in our eyes equals serendipity for Cape Town's hot, trendy and contemporary South Africans.
