Cape Times Waterfront Wine Festival at the V&A Waterfront
Wine enthusiasts can tour all the wine routes at a single venue at the Cape Times/Waterfront Wine Festival next month.

The festival - now in its 14th year
- will be held over four evenings at the V&A Waterfront, where the entire spectrum of Cape wine producers will be presented, including top-notch estates and boutique wineries.

This year's theme is "Visit the Wine Routes" and 75 of the Cape's finest wine estates, producers and wineries will present more than 300 wines for tasting. There will also be a variety of gourmet delicacies and guests will be able to buy boutique cheeses, smoked salmon, oysters, sushi, chocolates, organic products, rubs, spices, sauces, olives and olive oils.

One of the popular stands is sure to be Willoughby's sushi, served with Graham Beck wines. Experience the sensation of chocolate and wine pairings by Bilton Wines, and sample a variety of cheese platters on sale at Dalewood Fromage.

Van Loveren, a family-owned farm in Robertson, will be launching a new range of wines from grapes grown on the farm, known as Fives Reserve. About 116 workers on the farm will own 25% of the new brand through the establishment of a BEE project.

After wine and cheese tasting, wine lovers can linger on and enjoy a meal at any one of the Waterfront restaurants within easy strolling distance.

Tickets, at R75, are available now at Computicket, Vaughan Johnson's Wine Shop and Caroline's Fine Wine Cellar.

The festival will take place from May 9-12 from 5pm to 9pm at Market Square. For more information, contact the V&A Waterfront information centre at 021 408 7600.
