Make Way for the Bang Bang Club in Cape Town
The Bang Bang Club in Cape Town has opened its doors and the club is turning out to be one of the best club in Cape Town for 2007
Cape Town's favourite export from Johannesburg's music scene, South African DJ Shaun Duvet, has recently opened what - in our opinion - might just be the hottest new night club in Cape Town in 2007.

The Bang Bang Club opened its doors quietly towards the end of January in the heart of Cape Town Nightlife, the inner city, at 70 Loop Street and already the calendar of events is filling up and sponsors are clamouring to get on board. Shaun has partnered DJ with Garan Reck, Federico Scarpecci and SoulCandi Music of JHB in this exciting and much anticipated new venture.

Garan and Federico are both veterans of the Cape Town music and social circuit, and SoulCandi needs no introduction amongst the South African music loving public.

"This night club is just what Cape Town needs at this point in time; we plan to cater to a more sophisticated market that wants an upmarket lounge club as opposed to just another nightclub in Cape Town. The Bang Bang Club fills that niche perfectly", said Shaun.

The décor scheme is 1920's Glam NYC meets the Russian Tea Room and opulence is the order of the day. Think cocktails, cigars and more gorgeous people than you could shake your tail feather at, and you're about half way there.

The Bang Bang Club's entertainment on offer ranges from the sexy electro styles of Matt Blitz and Jody K with I Love Digital, to the ‘Familia' nights with Shaun, Garan and Fred, each very accomplished DJ's, to live comedy with Cokey Falkow, Paul Snodgrass and guests on rotation, to the Ooh La La parties hosted in conjunction with Ice Models. There is something for every taste on the Bang Bang Club menu.

Molo Says:
"The nightclub has the look and feel of an up-market, yet intimate loft apartment. The sexy, yet comfortable décor and warm and uplifting beats filtering through the speakers make the vibe at the Bang Bang Club feel more akin to a legendary house-party with friends at a luxury New York penthouse loft, than a club. This atmosphere - combined with regular doses of highly addictive music - will ensure that you'll be coming back for more every week".

Did you know: The name "The Bang Bang Club" is a reference to the renowned group of four photographers which became known as The Bang Bang Club, who where active photo journalists within the townships of South Africa during the Apartheid period, particularly in the years running up to the country's first democratic elections on 27 April 1994. They got the name Bang Bang CLub because they were always there where the riots, the 'bang bang' took place.
