Welcome To Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, Karoo

At the foot of the Warmwaterberg, in the heart of the Little Karoo, between Montagu and Barrydale on the famous Route 62, the vision of the San is becoming a reality. Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, 54 000 hectares of undulating mountains and plains, indigenous fauna and flora, rock formations and rock art make this a destination not to be missed. Specialist guiding is a key element in providing a memorable and varied experience.
Direction and Location
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is situated approximately 3.5 hours drive from Cape Town. On commencement of one's journey, travel on the N1 from Cape Town in the direction of Paarl. Continuing on the N1, travel through the Huguenot Tunnel. A tollgate controls this tunnel. Alternatively, the scenic Du Toits Kloof Pass can be taken. The first town is Worcester set in the Breede River valley. Taking the second turnoff to the right off the N1 into the town itself and the interesting and quaint Route 62 or (R62) is taken. Follow the signs to the picturesque town of Robertson, synonymous with fine wines, fruit, roses and top horse breeding.

Accommodation /Tilney Manor/

Tilney Manor has six luxuriously appointed rooms. This exclusivity ensures that guests can experience personal service and world-class cuisine in an atmosphere of privacy and tranquillity. Comfortable lounges with fireplaces for winter nights, private verandas, romantic freestanding baths and carefully sheltered outdoor showers are just a few of the pleasures that guests can enjoy.

Accommodation /Khanni Lodge/
Sanbona's second lodge, Khanni, is named after the San word for Eland - a magnificent antelope revered by the San as ruler of the animal kingdom. Tucked away in a secluded valley overlooking a natural watering hole, Khanni Lodge is an idyllic Klein Karoo summer house, with wrap-around verandas, high lime-washed ceilings and exposed beams providing a feeling of cool, airy space.
