The 'Au Jardin' serves gastronomic French cuisine in an unsurpassed setting overlooking the Vineyard Hotel gardens and Table Mountain.

The Vineyard Hotel has just appointed French-born Alexandre Coupy as the new Executive Chef of Au Jardin restaurant to catapult this charming Cape gem into being once again one of the best restaurants in South Africa.
Seating 60 people, Au Jardin is open for dinner Monday to Saturday. Dinner reservations essential. Please note the restaurant is closed in the month of July, and Mondays from May to August.

The Courtyard Restaurant
The Courtyard Restaurant is a glass roofed restaurant with tranquil green surrounds.
The Courtyard is open seven days a week for breakfast and dinner only.
The ambience is enhanced by string music and the tinkling sound of water tumbling down the waterfall.
Patio breakfast will be available during the summer months from December to April
The charge will be R105.00 per person and R50.00 for children under 12 years.
All guests on bed and breakfast will be charged a surcharge of R20.00 per person.
Light lunches are served on the patio (weather permitting). In poor weather, lunch will be served in the Courtyard Restaurant.

Au Jardin - International chef has recipe for Success
The Vineyard Hotel has just appointed French-born Alexandre Coupy as the new Executive Chef of Au Jardin restaurant to catapult this charming Cape gem into being once again one of the best restaurants in South Africa.
With a restaurateur father, Coupy’s knowledge and passion for the hospitality and restaurant industry started to blossom from a very early age and at the tender age of 15 he began his formal chef’s training in France. After gaining experience in two 3 Michelin Star restaurants in both London and Monaco, Coupy headed for African shores where he was employed at The Cellars Hohenort Hotel as Chef de Partie. More recently he worked as Chef de Cuisine at The Lord Charles Hotel’s up-market ‘La Vigna’ restaurant and at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa’s Premier Restaurant as ‘Senior Sous Chef .’ From here he left to take up the prestigious position at Au Jardin.
Coupy enthuses about his aspirations for Au Jardin, ‘I want to create a restaurant that offers fine, classical dining in a comfortable, relaxed environment. I will personally interact with guests to find out if they are having an enjoyable time. People must leave Au Jardin feeling they have had a beautiful experience – beautiful food, service and ambience.’
To achieve this goal, Coupy has carefully selected a skilled and vibrant team to work alongside him. He stresses that Au Jardin’s success does not rest on the standard of the food alone, but that communication between the front of restaurant and the kitchen are essential. As such, he and recently appointed Restaurant Manager, Jürgen Welp, work hand-in-hand to turn Au Jardin into one of South Africa ’s best dining venues.
