History of The Grace Hotel
| Four years after Chippy's son Stuart, and son-in-law Peter Moore joined him at Mount Grace, two prime sites simultaneously became available for potential Grace hotels, one in the V & A Waterfront in Cape Town and another in the heart of Rosebank. The 75-bedroomed Grace in Rosebank opened its doors in September 1997, with Chippy and Cynthia Brand integrally involved in the design and construction of the hotel and Stuart Brand and Peter Moore heading up its management and marketing.
Since Mount Grace's inception in 1983, the ethos of the Brand family business has always been 'GRACE' which means 'undeserved favour from God' and this notion is captured in the mission statement for Grace hotels, an acronym for the word 'grace':

Double/Twin Bedrooms
The Grace has generously proportioned double or twin rooms each with adjoining bathroom and separate shower. French casement windows afford views to the north, south, east and west. Guest accommodation starts on the fifth floor.
One Bedroom Suites
Each with a spacious bedroom, bathroom and separate shower, separate lounge and guest toilet, with superb views, separate lounge suitable for small business meetings and private dining for up to 6 people.
Penthouse Suites
On the top (tenth) floor there are three luxury, one-bedroomed penthouse suites, each with en-suite lounge, guest toilet, adjoining bathroom and separate shower. French doors open onto a private balcony. |
