Boschendal Wine Estate
Find your way to the historic Boschendal Wine Estate, nestled in the picturesque Drakensberg Valley (between Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl) in the Western Cape. Situated in the little town of Prince Albert – a quaint Karoo establishment located approximately four hours away from Cape Town sits African Relish, a recreational cookery school and accommodation hotspot. The cooking school, which officially opened in 2009 was originally created to offer travellers the true Karoo culinary experience while visiting the charming settlement. Nowadays, the popular culinary school offers locals and tourists alike half, full-day or weekend courses which specialises in (but is not limited to), traditional Karoo cuisine. Hosting small and large groups, the cookery school provides Anytime Cooking Courses, perfect for the passing explorer, as well as Scheduled Cooking Courses (which you’d need to book in advance).
