CapeTown Carnival
18. March - 20. March 2010Cape Town's NEW Carnival weekend - Rio de Janeiro style - with All South African Flavours
Walk into KINK Bar and Boutique in Cape Town’s easygoing and vibey Park Road and your senses will be immediately ignited.
Here, nothing is bland. Rich, elegant, inviting colours work together with alluring textures, materials and thoughtful touches (think feathers, roses and striking lampshades) to create a space that is elegant yet unpretentious, grown-up yet fun and, mostly, all kinds of kinky…
A theatre of erotic circus, filled with delights, delicacies and all that is delectable… this is KINK Bar and Boutique, the newest tease in town. Sip on a seductive cocktail, snack on a heavenly platter, and then get the party started!
“Every night at KINK is like going into an Alice in Wonderland story and getting lost down a rabbit hole,” says co-owner Gia Pra-Levis, who was extensively involved with event management all over Europe before moving to Cape Town.
A quick look at the party line-up at KINK and it’s clear that Gia is putting her events experience into good practice. Don’t expect mainstream for the masses though – KINK is a creative platform for performers and DJs to conjure up a sensational cross-genre party experience they usually aren’t at liberty to do elsewhere.
Tuesdays are Tango nights at KINK, dance the night away to traditional tango, electro tango and any other figure hugging sensual tango beats and twist
Wednesday's are Lip Sync at KINK - Think Disco, think mirror ball, think afro and an all round bad decade for fashion.
Thursdays are Profile - 101 and Vintage nights at KINK, featuring Cape Town's finest mixologists.
Eccentric Fridays involve exploring musical genius, ranging from the playful to the absurd, and a mishmash of magical musical madness.
Saturday nights are Stripped nights at KINK, with minimal, experimental, deep and dirty beats with Resident DJ Charles Large.

There aren’t enough venues in the Western Cape that cater for the more discerning music-lover,” laments Gia. She’s aiming to ensure that KINK is exactly the kind of place where connoisseurs of magic music can feel right at home.
From the décor to the dance floor, KINK is about all things sensual, and that most definitely includes food and drink...
On offer are an enticing selection of delectable platters with names like Slippery Selection, Lovers' Delight, Soft & Sensitive and Smack Your Lips, and ingredients like cherry tomatoes, apricots, granadillas, prosciutto ham, chorizo sausage and Gruyère and brie cheeses.
Now, moving onto delights more liquid in nature: KINK cocktails! Of course, anything ordinary would be awkwardly out of place here.
Cast a loving gaze over the cocktail menu and ponder to yourself: “Should I go for a Dirty Sanchez, or a Slap & Tickle, a Spank The Skank, a Large One or perhaps an Anonymous Fondle?” KINK has put much effort into concocting a selection of cocktails that are as erotic as they are exotic.
Two upstairs rooms at KINK house a sexy boutique, where you’ll find all sorts of naughty numbers.
The boutique has the same opening hours as the downstairs area, so you’re free to wander up and find that perfect something to show off to your special someone downstairs. “It’s amazing how many people buy a whip at 1 in the morning!” laughs Gia.
“Everything at KINK has a twist; we want you to laugh out loud and go ‘ooh!’”, smiles Gia. Come in for a sexy cocktail, start tapping your feet and then dance till 2am. You never know what’s going to happen at KINK!
