Partner Impact Programme Overview

We have a marketing impact programme (Partner Impact Programme) tailored to the unique needs of small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses in the tourism, hospitality, and local products industries. 

You should apply if:

You have a lot of passion for reaching out to great small and medium sized businesses, particularly in the hospitality and tourism industry (restaurants, wine estate, accommodation, experiences, products, events).

You’re a strong communicator, organised and love unpacking opportunities and sharing insights with potential partners (owner-managed SMEs). 

You have a calm and confident demeanour. Are an organised, tenacious, resilient and goal-oriented team player. 

You love following through, and working on penny-dropping marketing and sales solutions, and can manage your own pipeline through consistent follow ups and follow through on a CRM. 

You’re a strong communicator over email and phone, great with potential partners one-on-one, or in online meetings. 

You’re energised by interacting with people and initiating conversations whether through cold calls, networking events, or email. 

Mission and purpose of the role

It’s a dream job for someone who wants to sink their teeth into a role that impacts the bigger economic picture, who wants career growth and fulfilment at the same place for years to come. 

You'll play a vital role in driving revenue growth for owner-managed SMEs across Cape Town, the province and even the rest of South Africa. 

You’ll boost the company’s mission to create a DNA changing impact for SMEs and their teams through this programme, which supports SMEs with extremely good marketing at relatively little cost.

You'll leverage your expertise to promote our marketing programme for SMEs by engaging potential partners, leading and advising them through our programme, and sales process, and working with the partnerships team to co-create compelling communication materials. 

This role requires a sincere passion for supporting local businesses in the Western Cape and South Africa. An understanding of marketing principles, excellent communication skills, sales talent and CRM experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Research and identify great new fitting potential partners through various channels and sources, including LinkedIn, industry databases, social media, industry events and networking.

  • Outreach: Contact and connect with potential partners through introductory calls, emails, and social media messaging to introduce the company's programme and solutions.

  • Maintaining a high level of activity: Reaching out to a minimum of 50 companies per day and driving continuous growth of the programme, in numbers of business and revenue to sustain its impact.

  • Qualification: Qualify leads based on their needs, budget, authority, and timeline to ensure they are a good fit for the company's solutions.

  • Engagement: With prospective partners to understand their needs, qualify them, and determine their fit for the company's products or services.

  • Appointment setting: Securing scan meetings or calls between qualified leads and the partnerships team.

  • Follow-up: Maintain regular and consistent follow-up with prospects

  • Programme advisor: Lead potential partners through our programme success aspects and process, from initial outreach to proposal presentation and contract negotiation, leveraging your expertise to highlight the benefits of our programme.

  • CRM management: Keep detailed records of outreach activities, notes, and follow-up tasks in the company's customer relationship management (CRM) system.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the partnerships and marketing teams to refine outreach strategies and messaging based on feedback and performance metrics.

  • Co-create engaging marketing materials: Including email campaigns, social media content, and presentations, testimonials, case studies to attract and educate potential partners.

  • Professional development: Continually learn and stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in sales outreach to continuously improve strategies and tactics.

Requirement and Qualifications

  • Passion for working with and supporting small and medium-sized businesses

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing and sales, business administration, or a related field

  • Proven experience (three years is ideal) in marketing, sales outreach, or business development roles, preferably in B2B

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and convey information effectively

  • Proficiency in using CRM tools such as HubSpot or similar

  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a track record of exceeding targets and driving results

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on thorough follow-ups

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

We are looking for: A social media savvy young person who is organised, eager to learn and wants to start a career at CapeTownMagazine.com. Who loves online content, especially social media. Who loves creating it and seeing it resonate with people. You have strong English writing skills. We're looking for someone who is steeped in Cape Town culture, and loves to explore the province. 

You should apply if: You live on Instagram and TikTok and are looking to embark on a permanent position at CapeTownMagazine.com. You’ve always been bothered by the fact that feeds about Cape Town focus too much on Camps Bay and too little about Khayelitsha and other suburbs. You want to learn, working under the guidance of seniors. Are excited by the idea of producing content that will be posted to 252 000 followers, and that’s only on Instagram. This is your perfect opportunity to help start a career in online media and marketing.

Responsibilities: 

  • Create and schedule social media posts to curate our feeds 

  • Community management

  • Create content like Reels and TikToks 

  • Take part in brainstorming sessions

  • Pitch new ideas (what we call discoveries) 

  • Support to the content and business team

  • Assist with feedback reports (capturing stats)

  • Source photos and videos and edit it using image editing software

  • Learn and master our content management and production systems

  • Go on experiences

  • Share your creative ideas on projects and campaigns

Duration: 6 months, with the chance for a permanent position. 

Stipend: R5 000 per month, with the chance for increase after three months depending on performance.
